Conclusion

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

Hi, welcome to the concluding blog post of this campaign! Within this final blog I will reflect upon our campaign as a whole and provide some advice for anyone doing this in the future.

What went well throughout our campaign was our close communication as a team. This was an extremely important factor in ensuring the smooth running of the whole campaign. Having a shared OneDrive to store everything in and our WhatsApp group chat made organising our campaign content really clear and easy. It allowed everyone to be on the same page and any issues could be quickly resolved.

Throughout all my different roles in this campaign I was happy with my performance for the most part. I developed and defined lots of important skills such as time management. I always completed tasks before the deadlines which helped the campaign stay on track. The main area of improvement within my roles would be when I was a researcher. Next time I would be more specific in my research by setting out a plan ahead of starting so that I don’t get side-tracked.

Similarly, the main hurdle that we had to deal with as a team was the late addition of two members. This was a big last minute change as it meant we needed to re-allocate roles and think of two pieces of extra content. Nevertheless, as a team we handled this really well and communicated effectively to integrate them seamlessly into their roles and our team. Likewise, it’s been found that groups of 3-6 members are more productive than 7 or more, so we were still a small enough team to be able to collaborate efficiently whilst also having more people to establish a broader range of expertise and backgrounds (Peter and Dawson, 2010).

Advice for Future CMM1002 Students

My main bit of advice for all future students taking this module would be to have a clear plan. Having a structured plan each week is crucial for not falling behind or getting overwhelmed with workload. This plan will also give your team members a common purpose which helps influence team performance for the better as people will be more motivated and committed leading to a better standard of work (Peter and Dawson, 2010).

As well as this, communication is absolutely crucial for an effective team campaign. Communicating to your team any issues like not being able to attend a seminar or a technical problem is vital so that they can adapt their plans and help if needed.
